Andalas eating at Amsterdam Schiphol Airport during a break in the journey from Los Angeles to Sumatra.
The male Sumatran rhino ‘Andalas’ was born on 13 September 2001 to ‘Emi’ in the Cincinnati Zoo. He was exhibited in the Los Angeles Zoo from June 2003. He was transferred back to semi-wild conditions at the Way Kambas National Park in Sumatra, travelling by plane from Los Angeles to Jakarta on 18-21 February 2007.
