Galleria of Emilio Gargioni

Welcome to the Emilio Gargioni modern art collection

This is a Collection of the rhinoceros as perceived by artists working in the last hundred years, from about 1925.

The Collection was started with the aid of Mr Emilio Gargioni, a successful modern art collector based in Italy. His collection, considered the most important in the world, comprises of many modern expressions of rhinos. Gargioni is the owner of the Davico Gallery situated in the heart of the historical center of Turin.

In 2002 this private collection was exhibited in the Museo Regionale di Scienze Naturali in Turin, Italy. At that time a book was published with many illustrations:

Gargioni, E. 2004. La strano viaggio del signor Rhinoceros. Torino, Museo Regionale di Scienze Naturali Regione, Piemonte. pp. 1-132.

Also read the exclusive interview with Mr Emilio Gargioni.

The collection was largely sold in 2019.

Any suggestions for a work to be included are welcome. The RRc does not own or sell or buy any of these works, but artists are welcome to provide reference to their website or other information.
