The Town of Graz granted Douwe Mout (Captain van der Meer) permission to show the rhinoceros in Graz on 20 March 1751 (source 6101). They would have been on the way from Venice to Vienna, where they arrived at end of May 1751. The actual stay is not recorded.

The Repräsentation und Kammer gave the permission to Captain van der Meer to show the rhinoceros for money, but without music. For this he had to pay a fee to the Graz poor relief fund, as a kind of entertainment tax.
