The Council of Schaffhausen allowed the exhibition of the rhinoceros on 18 March 1748 (source 4051). Clara would have arrived after this date. Schaffhausen is mentioned on a broadsheet made in Zurich by Redinger (source 4053). A later notice mentions the town (source 4052).

The captain from Holland, who wants to bring a live rhinoceros here and show it for money, has been allowed to do so as something extraordinary, but his servant present here has been informed in advance that UGHH [our gracious gentlemen] expects a more moderate price from the captain here (than was the case in Zurich and Basel, where 20, 15 and 7.5 xr. were asked for in proportion to the number of places).

Eben wie die reise, welche man mit diesem Thier von Basel über Bern und Zürich gen Schaffhausen gemacht hat, um etwas weiter gewesen, als die nächste Straß, deren sich die Post von Schaffhausen gen Basel bedienet.
English translation
Just as the journey that was made with this animal from Basel via Bern and Zurich to Schaffhausen was somewhat longer than the nearest road used by the post from Schaffhausen to Basel.
