History of Clara

1748 / Augsburg, Germany

The Chronicle by Hainlin states arrival on 18 May 1748 and departure on 16 June 1748 (source 4151). The arrival is confirmed in a letter by Urlsperger (source 4152). There is one anonymous painting of this period (source 4153).

The period is mentioned on an engraved plate by Ridinger (source 4154). The date 12 June 1748 is found on one of Ridinger’s drawings (source 4154, part D). He stated that he had made six drawings of the rhinoceros. This and other art work connected with Ridinger in separate file (source 4154).
