Ausführliche Beschreibung des angekommenen grossen Wunder-thiers Rhinoceros.
Von diesem lebendigen grossen Thier Rhinoceros wird zwar nicht unbekandt seyn, daß dasselbe schon vorm. Jahr in Wien, Prag und andern grossen Städten des Reichs für Geld zu sehen herum geführet worden: da aber doch die mehreste Orthen hierzu keine Gelegenheit, auch wohl nichts erfahren haben, als hat man für dienlich erachtet, denen Liebhabern dieses Kalenders ein solches sowohl in natürlich vorgestellter Figur, als auch die wahre Beschreibung davon hierinnen mitzutheilen.
Es ist ohngefehr 8. Jahr alt
Es soll dieses Thier über 9000. fl. gekostet haben, diß es nutr aus Bengale über die See nach Holland gebracht worden. Ein gewisser Potentat im Reich soll auch dem Eigenthümer 40000 fl. für dieses Thier gebotten haben, der es aber nicht verkauffen wollen. Die Städte Franckfurt, Leipzig, Cassel und Hanau etc. haben solches ebenfalls fürs Geld zu sehen bekommen. Dasselbe wird auff einem Zug machten und mit 8. Pferden bespannten Wagen von einem Ort zum andern geführet.

It will not be unknown that this living, great animal, the rhinoceros, was already exhibited for money in Vienna, Prague, and other major cities of the Empire last year. However, since most places have had no opportunity to do so, and have not heard anything about it, it has been deemed useful to provide lovers of this calendar with a representation of it, both in a natural form and with a true description.
It is approximately 8 years old.
This animal is said to have cost over 9,000 florins, having been brought from Bengal across the sea to Holland. A certain potentate in the Empire is said to have offered the owner 40,000 florins for this animal, but he refused to sell it. The cities of Frankfurt, Leipzig, Kassel, and Hanau, etc., have also seen it for money. It is transported from one place to another in a train and a carriage drawn by 8 horses.
