Wiltmaister recalls the exhition in the Gasthaus zur Schwannen in Amberg, with the wrong date 1739 (source 3201).
Amberg is 70 km north of Regensburg. It is 70 km east of Nuremberg. I have dated the paragraph by Wiltmaister to 1747 as the town is halfway between Regensburg and Nuremberg. The year 1739 is unlikely as no rhinoceros then seen in continental Europe.

(p. 616) A. 1739 [sic] ware in dem damaligen Gasthaus zur Schwannen, jetzt aber dem herrn Burgermeister Eustachi Fleischmann eigenthumlichen Behausung ein lebendiger Rhinoceros oder Nashorn bey grossem Zulaufe der Leute zu sehen. Dieses Thier wie es dessen Beschreibung zeigte, ist, als es drey Jahr alt gewesen, durch den Capitan Douwemuth aus Bengalen in Holland überbracht, und in Asien im Gebiet des groffen Moguls in der Landschaft Assem gefangen worden. Dieses Wunderthier soll nach einiger Meinung der Behemod seyn, wovon gedacht wird im Buch Hiob am 40. v. 10. ist anjeho noch ein Kalb, weil es noch viele Jahr wächset, und solche auf hundert Jahre alt werden, es ware damals beynahe 5000 Pfund schwer, ist dunkelbraun, hat keine Haare, doch an den Ohren, und am Ende des Schwanzes sind einige Härlein, auf der Nase hat es ein Horn, womit es die Erde fehr geschwind umgraben kann, ist schnell im Laufen, kann schwimmen, und tauchen im Wasser wie eine Aente, der Kopf nach und nach spitzig, die Ohren gleich eines Esels, die Augen nach Proportion sehr klein, und kann nur über die Seite von sich absehen, die Haut ist als ob sie mit Schilden gedeckt sey, dieselben schlagen ein Hand breit über einander hin, sind 2 Zol dicke, die Füsse sind kurz, und dicke, versehen mit 3 Klauen, dieses Thier ist auch ein groffer Feind von dem Elephanten, so daß, wenn es ihn antrift, denselben unten im Leib stoffet mit seinem Horn, auch auf friffet; su täglicher Unterhaltung isset es 60 Pfund Heu, und 20 Pfund Brod, and trinket 14 Eimer Wasser, und da es so jung gefangen worden, ist es ganz zahm, auch 2 Jahr um den Tisch gelaufen, wo Herrschaften gespeiset.
English translation
In 1739, in what was then the Schwannen Inn, but now the residence of Mayor Eustachi Fleischmann, a live rhinoceros or rhinoceros was seen by a large crowd of people. This animal, as its description shows, was brought from Bengal to Holland by Captain Douwemuth when it was three years old, and was captured in Asia in the region of Assem in the territory of the Great Mogul. According to some opinions, this marvelous beast is the Behemoth, mentioned in the Book of Job in 40 v. 10. It is still a calf, because it still grows for many years, and these live to be a hundred years old.
