History of Clara

1743 / Antwerp, Belgium

The newspaper of Antwerp dated 14 June 1743 advertises the exhibition of the rhinoceros in the St. Pietersvliet on the banks of the Schelde (source 2001). This states that the animal will leave on 18 June 1743.

The locality with Vliet (River) suggests that the animal was on a boat.
