The rhinoceros of 2 years old was exhibited by Matthys Wylacker in Nieuwendam, just to the north of Amsterdam. There are advertisements all dated for dates between 22 August and 29 August 1741 in the Amsterdamse Courant (source 1651), Leydse Courant (source 1652) and Haerlemsche Courant (source 1653)

* Nieuwendam is a locality on the northern side of Amsterdam above the IJ river.

Werd aen alle Heeren en Liefhebbers bekent gemaekt, dat tot Nieuwendam is gearriveert een leevendige Rhinocerus van 2 jaer oud, byna 3000 pond swaer, en in het Gebied van den Grooten Mogol gevangen in ‘t Landschap Assem, en nu uyt Bengalen in Holland gebragt, wiens weerga nooit te vooren hier is geweest, en is te zien bij M. Wylacker tot Nieuwendam, voorn. voor zes stuivers ieder persoon.

English translation

It was announced to all Gentlemen and Enthusiasts that there has arrived in Niuewendam a living Rhinocerus of two years old, weighing almost 3000 pounds, and captured in the territory of the Great Mogul in the Assem region, and now landed in Holland from Bengal, the like of which has never been here before, and can be seen at M. Wylacker in Nieuwendam, for six stuivers each.

It was announced to all Gentlemen and Enthusiasts that there has arrived in Holland a living Rhinoceros of two years old, weighing almost 3000 pounds, and captured in the territory of the Great Mogul in the Assem region, and now landed in Holland from Bengal, the like of which has never been here before, and can be seen at Matthys Wylacker in Nieuwendam, for six stuivers each.
