The mountain range spans more than 1 million ha in SW Cambodia and is the last great wilderness in mainland SE Asia. It is hardly accessible. Until 1998, the Cardamoms provided a secure refuge for Khmer Rouge guerillas. Local people also reported Javan Rhinoceros Rhinoceros sondaicus. |
