Gauhati Zoo. The calf suckled the mother generally at 15-20-min intervals. During the day the maximum suckling interval was 1 hr from 0400 hr to 0500 hr, at which time the mother left the calf in the shed and came out to wallow and eat. At about 0500 hr the calf joined the mother for suckling.... |
