Original text on this topic:
Rhinoceros horn or si-kioh. The best sort comes from Cochinchina and sell at times for $300 a piece. An inferior sort comes from India, of which some probably are from South Africa, which sell for $30 and upwards a piece. The Chinese carve the finest pieces into elegant cups, cornucopias &c., but most of the importation is as a medicine; it is also sent to Japan by the Chinese.
