At the request of the local inhabitants, the department undertook to attempt to reduce the number of forest rhino in the Nyeri area, where they had been for some time a source of danger and annoyance. The first gentleman to undertake the business on our behalf killed two. Mr Isaac Engelbrecht the volunteered and succeeded in killing 26. He is greatly to be congratulated that he did not leave a single animal wounded.
