Recommendations of AsRSG Javan Rhino Colloquium, July 1997. Recommendations for Ujung Kulon:
1. To establish 2-3 Rhino Protection Units (RPUs)
2. To imporve rhino censuses by intensifying transect counts in conjunction with extensive photo trapping.
3. To initiate habitat management experiments entailing the removal of Langkap and Banteny in an endeavour to expand carrying capacity. This may help to attain a target population size of 100 Javan rhinos.
