1747, 1 September. The government issues a premium of 10 rijksdaalders for the killing of a rhinoceros or tiger. The Commissary for the matters of the natives had already advanced 860 rijksdaalders for this purpose, because between October 1746 and August 1747 there had been killed 60 rhinoceroses and 26 tigers.
