Fine lithographed children's print showing 10 wild animals, arranged in three rows above each other, with a caption, and all finely coloured by hand. <br>A rhino (ca 12.5 x 7.5 cm.), detail of a German popular children's print depicting animals like a porcupine, rhino, elephant, zebra, giraffe, monkey, snake, crocodile, etc. The lithographic workshop of Arnz & Co. was active from 1815 to 1858 in Düsseldorf, Germany. The firm was founded by Joh. Christian Arnz and Christian Winckelmann, who left in 1828 to start a publishing office in Berlin. From about 1822 Arnz & Co. published some 250 catchpenny prints, and from 1840 the firm produced the lithographs for illustrated natural history works published in Leyden, the Netherlands. Cf.
