On 26 February 2008, the Rhino Resource Center in conjuction with the Schueling Verlag in Munster released the monograph by Kees Rookmaaker:
Encounters with the African rhinoceros.
The book, A4 size, 148 pages discusses all records of the black and white rhinoceros in southern Africa in a large part of the 19th century. Many unpublished drawings and most published plates of the period are illustrated, in colour where the original is also in colour.
