Clara was the female Indian rhinoceros which toured through Europe from 1741 to 1758. When in Paris, she was sketched and painted by Jean Baptiste Oudry - life-size! The painting has been restored by the Getty Museum in Los Angeles, who last year exhibited "Oudry's Painted Menagerie." The painting of Clara is now back home and shown in a special exhibition. This is opened today in the Staatliches Museum of Schwerin (Northern Germany). Worth a visit.
