The IRKA/IRF rhino photography contest ends July 31st, so only 31 days left! 12 winners of the contest will be featured in the IRKA/IRF’s 2012 Rhino Calendar.
The calendars will be sold for $26 with the funds raised going to help purchase supplies such as; digital cameras, tamper proof evidence bags, PDAs, metal detectors, shoes, GPS, & binoculars. These supplies will help increase effective protection of rhino populations & successful prosecutions of wildlife crimes, specifically in selected areas in Zimbabwe & the Republic of South Africa. Meeting these basic equipment needs will improve the monitoring & protection of the rhinos & other wildlife in the selected areas. It will also contribute to the collection of crime evidence when poaching events occur, thus increasing the probability of successful wildlife crime prosecution!
Contributors can submit up to 5 photographs in a JPG or JPEG file format by July 31st to IRKACalendar@gmail.com. The total file size must be less than 5MB (per photo). Photos don’t necessarily need to be a digital photo from a digital camera either; it can be a digital scan, as long as the end result is a JPG or JPEG file.
Submitted photographs will be posted on the IRKA website (www.rhinokeeperassociation.org) by August 8th. Voting will be August 8th-29th to determine the 12 top winners.
